New Building Codes & Regulations
California’s new Green Building Code, the first-in-the-nation statewide green building standards, are designed to reduce the impact buildings have on human health and the environment while increasing the efficiency with which buildings and their sites use energy, water, other natural resources and materials. This session will provide an overview of the new green building codes, as they apply to the state’s community colleges, and guidelines for a smooth transition to mandatory compliance by 2011.
