This session will define “green” purchasing, discuss the environmental importance of purchasing “green, EPS’s five principles of “green” purchasing, the economic benefits of “green” purchasing and where to purchase “green.” An example of green purchasing will focus on the EPA’s Electronic Product Assessment Tool (epeat.net), which is a database comparing the environmental attributes of computers, laptops and monitors.
