Creating Curriculum for Green Jobs

Creating Curriculum for Green Jobs

Where do you start in creating curriculum for green jobs at your community college? Who do ask in an emerging industry with job titles that don’t exist nationally? Which green job area did you choose? Cerro Coso Community College will share their journey in developing their green jobs curriculum over the past two years and the subsequent steps to align with other community colleges across the country and with national organizations including the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) and the North American Board of Certified Energy Practioners (NABCEP) to meet national certification and skill standards. From starting at the local level with faculty and employers to build interest and enthusiasm, to using state resources, to moving your program to the national level, Cerro Coso will provide you guidance and a list of resources that you can use to begin your green jobs program.
