Mabale, in the eastern region of Uganda, is participating in a territorial approach initiative to climate change with the United Nations Development Programme, United Nations Environment Programme, among others. In March 2009, a United Nations mission in Uganda began assessing the climate change situation in several Uganda districts, including Mabale.
