Mr. Perry is a venture capitalist, social entrepreneur, philanthropist and the founder of Next 10, a nonpartisan nonprofit organization that educates, engages and empowers Californians to improve the state's future.
In 1991 he founded one of the first socially responsible venture capital funds, Baccharis Capital, Inc. As a father of five sons, he became concerned about the future of California's economy and its ability to continue to lead the world through innovation. This concern led to his founding the nonprofit Next 10, which is focused on innovation and the intersection between the economy and the environment. The organization creates tools and provides information that fosters a deeper understanding of the critical issues affecting all Californians. Under his guidance, Next 10 has released several groundbreaking
reports and is the creator of the California Budget Challenge, an online interactive game with over 100,000 users.
